Well...I have a full-blown cold. Yay for me! I had my last midterm at 6pm on Thursday and I wasn't feeling well on Friday. I get up Saturday and I'm feeling like I might be getting a cold. I called out of the Aquarium on Sunday and slept the day away and watched LotR (7 hours!). Today...cold. Bleh. What a grand way to spend Spring Break! If I get anyone sick...SORRY!
Capstone, first draft, is due in 2.5 weeks! EEK! I should have a pretty good draft by then. I'm going to try and get it mostly done this week so I can get it off to Judy before the first official draft due date. I'm just amazed I only have 2 months left of classes and then I'm no longer an undergraduate college student. It's a nutty thought! Sometime the end of this month we find out honor rankings and all that. Should be fun.
Aquarium opened up the new and improved 2nd floor of the nearshore wing. I missed working it yesterday because I didn't go to the aquarium. Bummer. Maybe I can go tomorrow just to see it since Chris and I plan to go tidepooling and to the Farmer's to grab food before his class at 6pm. I just want to see it. It sounded cool in the plans and some people have seen it already and say it's pretty cool. We'll see!
With that...I'm off to watch more LotR and to crash.

AHHHHHH
Where does the TIME GO?! SERIOUSLY!
I have mid-terms in 2 weeks! Less than 2 weeks! Turns out Physics mid-term is going to be on Monday, March 10th. That's a bit over 1 week away! My other two mid-terms are 2 weeks from today. AHHHH
Not to mention first full draft of the capstone is due in 4 weeks! AHHHHH
Oh my gosh...I get all tense just thinking about everything. I have to do a statistical test for my data and then I think the majority of my "number" results are complete. The rest I think is all discussion type of things that I'm just looking at and determining. That's my goal tomorrow...to actually start writing my paper.
Anyway, I just gave myself a tension headache. Lovely.
I did buy my plane ticket to Terminus!! $502 round-trip from Monterey to O'Hare. That's exciting. That means I'm officially leaving on Monday, August 4th and returning Tuesday, August 12th. August is going to be nuts since my college friend gets married at the very beginning of August (the 2nd) and my cousin gets married at the end of August. Classes at MPC start sometime at the end of Aug too, I think. I'm only taking macro- and micro-economics though.
I just realized the other day in marine conservation bio that not only do I have to research grad schools, but I also need to look at professors for master's thesis papers. I hadn't thought about that. It helps to have an idea, especially if I have to have a statement of purpose or something. I also need to look into taking the GRE again. If I was just going to do Columbia, I don't think I'd care (it's optional, though "highly recommended"). I think Washington, though, requires you to take the GRE. University of Washington looks more appealing the more I think about it, but I still would prefer a more "name" school and a 1-year program. But, I'll take anything, to be honest. :D So my top 3 schools are still Columbia University, University of Edinburgh, and University of Washington. 3 totally different places. LoL
With that, I must be off to take care of some things before my 5 hours straight of class tonight.

woot!
I got a 49/50 on my grad class (resource and environmental economics) quiz! I'm so excited! I'm also pulling an A+ in physics (we'll see how that holds up once the mid-term comes). I think it's more fluke than anything. LoL
Capstone is going extremely slow...I have to step it up. I've come to find I haven't been working on capstone at home. I've only been working on it at MBARI, but that's not right. LoL So...I'm going to try and concentrate more on the national report and then work on capstone if I have time. I'm going to be working on capstone at home more now.
Mid-terms are creeping up quickly! So I need to start studying for mid-terms now too. Or at least reading all the required reading I haven't done. Okay, so mid-terms aren't till March 13th, but whatever. Can't plan too far ahead, I say. :)
With that, I was just posting about my grad class quiz grade, I'm off.

Let the countdown and stress begin!
I'm into my 4th week of school, which means I have only 12 more weeks left!
Okay, how does 12 weeks sound really short and 3 months long? Maybe because I tackle each week as it goes by and not by month. All I can say, though, is as each day passes...My stress level keeps increasing. I'm sleep deprived and it's only the beginning of the 4th week of classes. How does that happen?
Anyway, I got sick for about a week with a flu-cold. Definitely not enjoyable and I think it's just thrown me off my rhythm. Then we had the primaries last Tuesday and that's continued to throw me off since I had to get up at SIX AM! I also hit a huge road block on my capstone. I met with Judy, my advisor, today and I feel recharged for it. I have some direction. I like my capstone, it's been an incredible learning experience, but sometimes I just want to throw it out the window and say I don't want to graduate. :P I'm still deciding whether my stress level would still be the same if I had capstone or not. I'm undecided. I'm doing a lot is the problem. Hopefully this week I can get into a rhythm since it'll be a "normal" week for me school/work/whatever wise. Nothing to throw me off.
My "unhappy" day this semester is going to be Thursday, March 13th. I have THREE midterms that day. One in Physics at 10:25am, one in Marine Cons Bio at 4pm, and another in Resource/Enviro Economics at 6pm. Yay for me! I'm going to be SO happy for Spring Break then. April 2nd is also a big day as it's the day my COMPLETED rough draft of my Capstone goes to my advisor. UGH! I need my results completed by the end of this month! ECK! I'm tackling everything HARD this week.
With that...I must be off to do work!

I survived - almost
Finished my first week of classes.
Capstone on Wednesdays are mostly all done on-line so my Wednesdays (with the exception of Academic Planning Committee meetings) will be free. Thursday was my LONG day. I had Physics, election training, marine conservation biology, and environmental economics. There's 13 us in Environmental Economics and 4 of us are undergrads. A lot more undergrads than I thought! The class should be interesting, but I'm glad it's only once a week. Now to keep up with all the reading (2 textbooks) and all of that.
The sad news about this week is I got sick. :( I have some weird throat thing where my throat hurts like crazy and because of my throat I'm coughing, which in turn, hurts my throat. Vicious, vicious cycle. My sinuses hurt a little too, but not much at all. I'm stuffy nosed or headed. So...I dunno what's wrong with me. Talking is a pain because I can't talk really loud because it hurts my throat. I got away with it at MBARI today, but I have to work at Borders on Sat. Should be interesting...I'll probably be avoiding customers and reg pages for sure. LoL
Well, with that. I must be off to sleep. I've got Borders at 10am!

Back to school!
My LAST semester. 17 weeks of school and I will be DONE with my bachelor's!
I'm excited, though! Capstone Seminar II is mostly on-line! Sweet! Unfortunately we have assignments due on-line Fri, Mon, and Wed.
That's sad...I don't have class tomorrow because Dan has a family
emergency (not good), so I get to relax at home since they canceled the
Academic Planning Committee meeting for tomorrow too. I guess it's not really relaxing...I have a homework assignment due on Thurs for marine conservation bio (assigned to us last Fri!). I also have a homework assignment due next Monday for Physics and also an assignment due this Friday for capstone. *sigh* Welcome back to school...
I had Physics today at 10:25am. We had a pre-assessment test. LoL Uh, right. I haven't taken Physics in 3.5 years.
Good thing there's no grade for it. Most of this physics is kinetics, which is cool. Heavily book based, though. That's sad...
Marine
conservation biology tonight. I expect that class to be a snoozer right
from the start. James doesn't waste class time. Lol
With that...time to eat and work on some homework, I suppose.

Sadness...
Excuse me while I have an "overachiever" moment.
I got a B in Marine Bio!!!
It's a sad day...I got an A- in marine bio lab (saw that one coming) and in capstone (knew that). I got an A in Water Law (I wanted an A+!) and Food Ethics. It didn't affect my cumulative GPA, but I got a B in Marine Bio! Sad, sad day...
