Since nothing except work, sleep, eat, and watch movies is going on in my life right now...and work has been the same thing for 3 weeks now...Movies it is!
Bounty Hunter (DVD) - I fell asleep at the end so I actually don't know what happens really, but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to know what generally happens at the end. I think I fell asleep at the last 20 minutes too. LoL My falling asleep has nothing to do with the movie quality, I promise. It's been hard adjusting to getting up early and going to bed early. Anyway, it's your typical rom-com. It's not horrible and there's a small "mystery" element in it as Jennifer Aniston is a reporter and gets this lead and her lead disappears. This lead is what causes her to have a "bounty" put on her head because she misses her court date. Her husband used to be a police officer and says he "quit" so he turns to bounty hunting instead. He gets the job, of course. It's probably one of the better Aniston rom-coms, which I suppose doesn't say a whole lot. I liked the parts I saw, though. Especially since they also showed Monmouth Park in Jersey! Grade: B
When in Rome (DVD) - If I had to pick between Bounty and Rome, I'd pick Bounty to watch. When in Rome was okay. It had an interesting story premise around the fact she stole coins from a fountain in Italy and so the owners of those coins fall in love with her. The rest was...eh. Not a great character development within it for her to really understand if there was any real "growth" in the film. You see she's a workaholic, but that character trait usually has some progression in it and hers kind of phases out or never moves? I'm not sure. The movie fell a little flat; though, Chris did enjoy some of the "manly" lines said. I admit they were more clever than you normally hear when a guy is arrogant and complimenting himself about things like his "guns." Grade: B-/C+
Valentine's Day (DVD) - I was thinking this was going to be super, super bad based on the reviews. I had originally wanted to see it because of the great ensemble cast, but after the reviews was hesitant on seeing it. Turns out...it's not bad. It's a combination of "He's Just Not That Into You" and "Crash", but this one takes place all on February 14th. It's similar to "Crash" because everyone in the movie is connected to each other whether they know it or not. It doesn't have the deeper meanings of "Crash" though. :) I thought the acting was good and some of the storylines were predictable, but it wasn't all that bad. There were some nice stories within that and covered older relationships to teenagers. It's a nice fluff rom-com. Grade: B
Unthinkable (DVD) - TOTALLY not what I expected. I'm not sure if I know anyone who would want to remotely see this film. LoL I knew based on the rating there was torture involved, but this entire film revolves AROUND the torturing of a person who placed 3 nuclear bombs in 3 cities in the U.S. The film is part psychological, but...yeah. It's a power struggle between a FBI agent who doesn't agree with the torturing, the guy doing the torturing, and the guy being tortured who has been trained by the U.S. to withstand torture. It's just not what I thought it'd end up being and way too much torture for my taste. No grade
Inception - Believe the hype. Believe it! Oh my goodness. It's mind blowing. I now understand why everyone says that. The acting, story, and special effects are a dynamic grouping. I sat riveted to my seat for 2.5 hours. I think Inception has officially taken over as my favorite film of the year. It's good enough to see again and you might have to see it again once you watch the end. I read in an interview with Nolan that he said that a lot of movies treat the audience as being stupid, but he wanted to let us use our brains through this film. Boy...do you need to. There are so many layers in this film and things going on in sort of parallel situations that it's just amazing how they connected everything. Once you hit the end...your whole perception of the film changes. Inception is exactly the type of things I like. There is action adventure, a little mystery, crazy mind stuff, and great acting and special effects, but there's more in it about forgiving yourself too. I went into this movie with high expectations and the movie surpassed those expectations. A+
Salt comes out today in theaters and Clash of the Titans and Repo Man on Tuesday!

You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself and that person is not to be found anywhere. you yourself as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.
