I woke up okay this morning (I'm sleeping kind of funny, though...Not
really deep) and wasn't in a whole lot of pain so I said 1 tsp of my
tylenol/codeine and then I took my antibiotic. I came downstairs to
take my THIRD medicine stuff (I've got the grossest combo of medicines
ever) and lazed around the couch. A couple of hours later, though, I
was in a lot of pain and my mom said, "I'm assuming this is a 2 tsp
time?" I can take up to 3, but the most I've ever taken is 2. Codeine
makes me feel weird sometimes. Anyway, after that I ate some sherbert
and some solid food, but then I was feeling nauseous. I ended up
sleeping for 1.5 hours instead. I had a bit more mac and cheese, but
I'm just in pain.
The swelling I can tell has gone down a
little, but the wall or sides of my throat hurt like NOTHING ELSE. So
I've been careful. I am trying to get more fluids down, even if it
kills me. The unfortunate thing is yogurt and sherbert are a bit too
sweet for my stomach right now so I have to be careful or it starts making my stomach feel weird. I did finish the vitamin water Chris got me the other day, which was good.
I feel better today, but at the same time worse. Is that
possible? LoL Yesterday I think the swelling affected me more than anything. I still have some swelling (my tongue feels huge), but I can tell the swallowing doesn't hurt as much because of the swelling. Who'd of thought burping, hiccuping, etc your throat muscles work to do. I basically try and avoid anything with the throat/mouth. It doesn't really hurt to chew, but the base of my tongue is sore and you use your tongue a lot to move the food in your mouth. So...that limits my chewing down a bit.
I think one of the worst things about getting your tonsils out is the fact you can't EAT most foods. Do you know how agonizing it is when you're watching TV and food shows up on a commercial? I practically drool. I'm hungry almost all day, but I can hardly get anything down and you get to a point where scrambled eggs, sherbert, water, and whatever smattering you can barely get down your throat just doesn't sound appetizing anymore! My mom made her homemade chicken soup the other day (on Friday) and I can't eat any of it and I just have to imagine eating it! Shish kabobs are being made tonight! We've never done shish kabobs here! I can't eat them! It's super sad and makes me depressed. If I loose any weight from this ordeal, I'm bound to make it all back from eating everything I can get my hands on when I'm all well...
I fixed the background. It's taken me a few days (weeks?) to notice that it wasn't working. Sometimes if the page doesn't finish loading the background doesn't load. I realized today the background I had was on my CSUMB account, which I no longer have. So I had to upload the photo to somewhere else.
With that...I'm off to do something other than lazing around and doing nothing. I have to move every once in a while or watching too much TV or whatever makes me feel ill.
